Recording System

Keeping records is not necessary to enjoy the birds though it can extend your scope. But, if you consider bird breeding seriously, you cannot handle it without keeping the records.

There are several commercial software packages that can be used for keeping records about bird breeding. However, in my opinion, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets are still the best way to keep records of our birds. This program comes with Microsoft Office package, available for everybody, and allows not just recording but also sorting and analyzing performance data.

Record keeping begins with individual information, Sample. Each our bird has a unique identification number to be following. Color coding with leg band help to recognize the bird in the cage and also add into visualization information in spreadsheet allowing to handle individual data easier. Excel has also useful searching tools to find and organize the records in appropriate order.
